In late February Les was diagnosed with cancer, which it transpired was fairly advanced and sadly untreatable. Despite a shocking prognosis, Les fought the illness with his typical level of quiet determination and resilience, often with a smile on his face. His resilience was matched only by his wife Diane, who kept her promise to him that he would be cared for at home. 

Les (age 60) passed away peacefully at his home in the Lake District, on the afternoon of Sunday 30^th April 2017. The sun was shining and a breeze passed through the house, he was surrounded by his wife Diane and his two sons, Tom & Joe.
